Thoughts After 100 Days of Painting
Last Fall, I made a commitment to paint every day for an entire year and document that journey. After almost 100 days in, here are my key takeaways when you’re setting a goal or making a commitment:
- Expect disruption on your journey
I’ve made it as easy as possible to paint each day, even for 10 minutes, though between travel and even a huge move with my family, that threw a wrench in my plan. Don’t let disruptions dissuade you.
- Seek help along the way
Drop your ego and know others are there to support you.
- Share your goals
By sharing your goals, it will keep you more accountable to achieving them.
- Know your “why”
If you’re not totally bought in on the driver behind your work, then it will be easy to lose steam.
- Enjoy the process
Be present in your work each day.
At almost 100 days in, I decided it’s time to share some of what I’ve been up to more publicly through the relaunch of my website, zellerhausart.com. This shares my vision and mission for why I paint.
