“The black box represents your inception point of grief. It's so small relative to the rest of the pieces because it reflects how one grows through grief — the grief does not shrink.”

Complete the Story

The documentary was never
meant to end here.

When filming began in 2019, the vision was always larger than the film itself — it was to follow the paintings from a studio wall to a public exhibition. The documentary captured 365 days of grief rendered in acrylic. But the final chapter — the one where these paintings find their permanent home and are experienced by the public for the first time — has yet to be filmed.

With the film now reaching 40+ countries, featured on FOX, CBS, NBC, and NPR, and rated 8.8 on IMDB, that final chapter is ready to be written. The right venue becomes more than a host — it becomes the setting for a documentary addendum, filmed as the exhibition comes to life. A re-release that picks up five years later and follows the journey to opening night.

“I always imagined this story ending in a room full of strangers, standing in front of these paintings, finally talking about the thing we're all too afraid to talk about. I'm looking for the right place to make that happen.”
