First Awards Are In
As part of our release strategy, the documentary has been entered into 34 film festivals. While we don’t expect to get into all of these festivals (some are swinging for the fences festivals like Sundance), we’ve already gained some noteworthy awards from several festivals.
Film Festivals come in many different shapes and sizes, so to speak. Some are award-based, nonpublic exhibitions, while others are full-on public screenings. For our first awards, these are pure jury-based. Hence, we still haven’t had a public premiere yet. More on that in the near future though.
We’ve so far taken home the following awards:
- Honorable Mention: 2022 Santa Monica International Film Festival
- Honorable Mention: 2021 INFLUX Film Awards
- Best Documentary Featurette: 2021 Los Angeles Film Awards
- Best Documentary: 2021 Bridge Fest
We still have a LOT of festivals we’re waiting to hear back from, as well as some good early interest from a few later in 2022. A huge moment and massive thanks to the entire cast and crew!
